Sharon Gleeson

APCO Foundation Chair

The APCO Foundation began its work in 2013 when we realised that we could do  so much more together than separately. I have always believed that a community is created when people are kind to those who are in need of help and support. Building this foundation together with my 3 sisters and my other wonderful board members for the past 7 years has been extremely rewarding.  I was a franchisee within the APCO company for over 19 years and being able to continue on the board as Chair has been challenging, exciting and personally for me an enriching experience.

Every day we see or read Heartbreaking stories. Volunteering is a way for me to do something helpful and positive to our community. A little assistance to someone or a family in need, even the smallest gestures can make a difference to them. And I hope the time and support I give to the foundation helps in a small way. It also helps me put my life in perspective. Your time is the most important thing you can give to another person.

APCO Foundation Director

Since 2016 it has been a privilege to be a director. Apart from the enjoyment of working with my co-directors, the fun of the fundraising events, the best part is being able to assist people through some really tough times. The difference with this foundation is we assist families and people to get over difficult times and we really make a difference. As well we support many local not-for-profits. We could not do this without the tremendous support from the APCO family.

Kellie Struth

APCO Foundation Director

I have been with Apco since the first “official” day of Covid in 2020 which was when I learnt quickly how valuable and important the Apco Foundation was to people in our local communities. Through my leadership role within the Category and Marketing team, I have been incredibly fortunate to work with such wonderful Supplier Trade partners who support our fundraising events and through their generosity have helped us raise much needed money which have been able to support many local organisations and individuals. I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity to be part of the Apco Foundation that truly believe in spreading kindness throughout our communities, and through my role I hope I can continue to help raise awareness of the importance of the Foundation. I feel very humbled to be involved and have seen that even the smallest of contributions or gestures can really change how tomorrow looks for someone or a family who may need some assistance.

To be given the opportunity to participate on this amazing Apco Foundation is both humbling and exciting. I have worked with the Apco group for more than 20 years and understand the strong connection to community that this business has. Many who know me understand the energy and enthusiasm that I bring to anything that I’m involved with. To be able to channel that into the activities of the Foundation and bring genuine change and benefit to people in the community is something I am really looking forward to.

Lyn Martin

APCO Foundation Director

I initially became interested in The APCO Foundation, when Sharon spoke at one of our Annual Franchise Award Meetings, some years ago. One of my interests was to get involved in a 'Group' to be able to help those less fortunate than ourselves.  Through my Nursing Career, I knew that there were many vulnerable and needy people of all ages, out there in our communities. The APCO Foundation has provided this for me and I feel that in some small way, we are all helping the many people and organisations that call upon our help and assistance.

Michelle Stocks

APCO Foundation Director

Michelle is the Executive Assistant for Corangamite Financial Services providing Bendigo Community Banking Services to Anglesea, Lorne and Winchelsea.  With a deep-seated commitment to community engagement, Michelle has long been an active participant in local groups and organizations, often assuming roles as a committee member or director. Her dedication to volunteer work and community support is integral to her character.

As an annual APCO Wine Walk volunteer Michelle became acquainted with the remarkable efforts of the APCO Foundation, which extends generous assistance to community groups and organisations, along with individuals and families facing hardship across Victoria and beyond. The Foundation's unique model of support allows assistance to be provided to those undergoing hardship and trauma. Michelle believes that this support, particularly during challenging times, serves as a beacon of hope amidst adversity.

Michelle acknowledges that while the Foundation may not be able to fulfill every request, its efforts to alleviate suffering and foster resilience are invaluable to the APCO communities
